On 14 May 2025, SIAN, in collaboration with MuAN and NARMIN, successfully organized a Provincial Workshop on Child Rights Focused Plan and Program for FY 082/83 at Hotel SitaSharan Plaza, Janakpur. The event brought together 42 key stakeholders, including local leaders, government officials, CSOs, media, and children from Madesh Province. The workshop centered on critical child rights issues such as child marriage, labor, substance abuse, CFLG, and child-focused budgeting.
A key highlight was the official handover of a 33-point MEMORANDUM on child rights to the Chairperson of the Madesh Province Association of Rural Municipalities. The Chairperson guaranteed to circulate the memorandum to all 136 local governments. This collective action aims to ensure child rights are prioritized in upcoming local plans and budgets. SIAN will continue advocacy and follow-ups, including engaging with key stakeholders to strengthen child rights.
